After two years of absence, the Roma Parade comes back to the capital on New Year's Eve. The great free event is dedicated to the public in search of fun and celebrations for the new year in the heart of the Roman city. For three hours, the spectacular musical parade will host about a thousand performers, including American high school bands, Italian folk groups and majorettes. The Newark Charter High School Marching Band in Newark, Delaware, St. Paul's Episcopal School Marching Saints + Saints Mascot in Mobile, Alabama, the Notre Dame Preparatory School Marching Band in Pontiac, Michigan, the Minnesota State University “Maverick Machine” Athletic Band, Minnesota, and the Spirit of America Dancers in Dallas, Texas, will be coming from the United States. From Italy, the Folk Group "La Frustica" of Faleria and the Vejanese Philharmonic Association, both from Viterbo, La Vigoneisa Folk Band of Vigone, Piedmont, the Musical Band Association of Fiano Romano and the Musical Band Giacomo Puccini of Città di Cave will arrive instead. To give color to the music there will be the Associazioni Riunite di Rievocazione Storica Romana, the Gruppo Storico e Sbandieratori Città di Castiglion Fiorentino, the street artists Artefatti Stilts and the Majorettes of Casperia, the Golden Stars of Selci and the Magic Stars of Jesolo, all flanked by the traditional Vespa Sidecars and the Giant Balloons typical of the parade. The event is a crossroads of different languages and artistic traditions united under the sign of sharing in a joyful atmosphere and good luck for the coming year. The parade is offered to the city of Rome by Destination Events, already promoter and organizer of the homonymous London New Year Parade.
