New research from Kaspersky revealed that 93% of IT decision makers in the Italian financial sector said their organization has suffered one or more cyber attacks or cybersecurity issues during the pandemic. 60% of respondents said that the company they work for has faced ransomware and spyware attacks. In addition, data show that phishing and malware attacks (58%) were particularly widespread. The Italian financial sector is in the middle of an advanced digitization process in order to optimize, simplify, accelerate and make business activities more agile. In the wake of the pandemic, this development has accelerated further. In fact, 67% of Italian IT decision makers belonging to the financial sector consider the risk of a cyber attack to be "high". However, despite the high number of threats, 84% think that their company has all the necessary tools to fight a cyber attack; the percentages appear almost identical both for personal IT considerations (87%) and for executives (85%). The sense of security is felt above all by most companies with more than 1,000 employees.
