With the high cost of living, over four out of ten Italians (43%) have already purchased the gifts to put under the tree taking advantage of discounts and promotions, such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday. This is what emerges from the Coldiretti/Ixe’ analysis on the habits of citizens in view of the traditional exchange of packages. This year, the economic crisis linked to the effects of the war in Ukraine and the increase in inflation gives a push towards useful gifts for the family; among relatives and friends it is preferred to choose objects or services that could not be accessed during the year. Among the most popular gifts are books, clothes and shoes, money, beauty products and food and wine, also considering the renewed interest in an attentive lifestyle and the rediscovery of tradition at the table: the DIY preparation of personal recipes for special evenings or gifts for friends recall the flavors and scents of tradition. The preference for buying Made in Italy products also helps the national economy and guarantees more job opportunities to support the recovery.
