A stamp devoted to Barilli's 145th anniversary. In the subject series "the Excellences of the production and economic system" another giant of Made in Italy appears, on the anniversary of its establishment. A global player in the markets for pasta, ready-made sauces, bakery goods, and crispbreads. Its brands and 30 production sites, which help make over 2 million tons of products every year, are found in over 100 countries. The cartoon shows a graphic reinterpretation of a Barilla advertising poster ("High since 1877") made by the painter and graphic designer Giuseppe Venturini in 1947, based on an idea by Carlo Mattioli, to show how art has always been a part of Barilla's business strategy. The Italian multinational's official logo is included into it. The stamp has a hot air balloon on it and the new Barilla logo in the middle. The year of the company's founding is written in a more intense red "to better describe Barilla's love for pasta," according to a note from the company. The company also has "an offer that is now broader, more differentiated, and inclusive, to meet the evolving needs of consumers, such as wholemeal pasta and gluten-free pasta." Pursuing a plan, Barilla decided to commemorate its 145th year in business with a piece that combines art and advertising. Pietro Barilla, who ran the firm with his brother Gianni immediately after World War II, realized that the company's success depended not only on the quality of its goods but also on careful management of its public image. Friendships with academics and artists such as Pietrino Bianchi, Orio Vergani, Carlo Mattioli, and Erberto Carboni help him in this endeavor. It is owing to the relationship with the graphic designer Erberto Carboni that the corporate logo was formed, the brand enclosed in the oval, which, although updated numerous times, has come down to the current day.
