Shopping for Christmas gifts has started for more than one in two Italians (55%), who usually wait the last two weeks to shop. This is what emerges from the Coldiretti/Ixè analysis: despite the economic crisis and the promotional initiatives of November, there is still a hard core of "traditionalists" who begin to choose gifts after the Immaculate Conception. Overall, this year the Italian spending for gifts will be 177 euros per person, down 7% compared to last year; the main cause is the economic crisis, with the increase in inflation and bills, which is related to the war in Ukraine. According to Coldiretti, 42% of Italians will contain the budget below the threshold of 100 euros, 30% will reach up to 200 euros and 15% will go towards spending 300 euros. But there is also 8% who will spend between 300 and 500 euros, 2% who will reach 1,000 and a very small minority of 1% who will exceed 2,000 euros. The rest of the Italians haven't decided yet how much to spend.
