The Hollywood soundtrack arrives in Italy. The spectacular performance of the Filarmonica della Scala with John Williams is set for this evening at 8 p.m. at La Scala in Milan, a once-in-a-lifetime chance in Italy to listen to and watch directed the American maestro whose career as a creator of film soundtracks is unsurpassed. It is sufficient to recollect not so much the five Oscars he won, but the 52 nominations he received throughout his more than sixty-year career, a number that ranks him second only to Walt Disney in history. Williams is known for the grandeur of his symphonic work and is regarded as one of the great names in American music, alongside Philip Sousa, Aaron Copland, and Leonard Bernstein. Williams worked on practically all of Steven Spielberg's films, and some of his experiences influenced the path of music. The soundtracks of some of the most renowned films from the 1980s to the present are included in the Teatro alla Scala's concert schedule. From "Hook - Captain Hook" to "Harry Potter," "Schindler's List" to "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial," there's something for everyone. And again, in the second part, "Superman", "Indiana Jones" and "Star Wars".
