Italians want to leave for the Christmas holidays. This is what emerges from a survey conducted by OnePoll on behalf of the online travel agency eDreams Odigeo. According to statistics, about 60% of our compatriots booked departures for the holiday period between Christmas and New Year's Eve two months in advance. Among the most popular destinations, Catania wins among the Italian destinations for Christmas, followed by Paris and London. The two European cities also share the podium in terms of the favorite destinations for Italians to celebrate the New Year, positioning themselves respectively in first and third place. Spain, headed by Barcelona, is the second favorite destination to await the arrival of the new year. For January 1, Naples stands out among the Italian destinations, winning the sixth place in the list and preceding Milan, Catania and Palermo. Another fact found by the eDreams survey is the foreigners' appreciation of the Belpaese as a destination in which to spend the holiday period. According to the data collected, the Italian boot will host tourists mainly Spanish (24%), French (17%) and German (14%), who have chosen the cities of Rome, Milan, Venice, Naples and Bologna.
