More than one in three Italians (36%) who receive the benefit of an extra month’s salary this year must allocate it for the most part to the payment of bills, loans, installments and taxes. This is what emerges from a survey conducted by Coldiretti-Ixè Research Center, which shows, however, that an almost similar percentage (35%) will use it for Christmas expenses. The bonus of this year provides an estimated amount of about 47 billion euros, which will help the 34 million Italians to face the strong increases determined by energy costs, but also coincides with the balance of the property tax (IMU), which represents an important component of the fiscal weight at the end of the year. It should also be noted that this year only 25% of Italians can allocate this sum to savings in the face of uncertainties about the future; the remaining 4% have other programs.
