At the conclusion of the Women's Club Volleyball World Cup final on Sunday in Antalya, Turkey, Imoco Volley Conegliano prevailed over VakifBank Istanbul to claim the title. Sir Safety Perugia, an Italian team, defeated ITAS Trentino, also from Italy, in the final of the men's Club World Cup a week earlier. All of this occurred after the women's national team placed third in the World Cup in October, and 24 years after the men's national team won them in September. In conclusion, it was a tremendous year for Italian volleyball, even better than the previous year, and all of this is set in an exceptionally favorable period for Italian volleyball after the men's and women's national teams were eliminated from the quarterfinals of the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. However, as previously indicated, the women's national team finished in third place at the World Cup this year. The men's squad even triumphed in the World Cup final in their host country's stadium in Poland.
