Study, work, sports, entertainment, relationships, purchases, relations with banks and the public administration: there is no sector of social life that has not fully entered the digital world, transforming the lives of Italians, who are running towards modernity. The numbers confirms it: 120 million screens (5 per family), of which 48 million smartphones and 43 million televisions; 93 million and 200,000 devices connected to the Internet inside the homes. As many as 16 million and 700,000 of these devices are Connected TVs, that is, Smart TVs or TVs with connected external devices, up 210.9% compared to 2017; in absolute value, there are over 11 million more TVs connected in the last five years. And often, it is precisely the television that acts as a gateway to digital. The data emerges from the fifth Auditel-Censis report, entitled "The digital transition of Italians". "In the last five years – says Giuseppe De Rita, President of the Censis - digital has definitely become part of the everyday life of Italians, and we have reported it with Auditel, and we have also reiterated the centrality of television, which today is Smart-TV. The next five years will be decisive to promote the inclusion of those who have remained out of digital: for this reason it is essential to take broadband everywhere and support the demand for connection of the most fragile".
