Through the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the 34 state-controlled industrial and service companies demonstrate that they have overcome the challenging pandemic period and can now face the uncertainties resulting from rising raw material costs, maximum inflation, rising interest rates, and a slowdown in consumption with confidence. Their total revenue was 279.6 billion euros, an increase of 86.9 billion euros (+45.1%); profits were €11.4 billion, a €15.6 billion improvement over prior losses; debts were €182.8 billion, an increase of €18.6 billion (+11.3%); and the number of workers was 462,880 (+1.13%). Regarding the rankings of the individual businesses, while taking into account the variety of their particular industries, Snam (+45.7%), Terna (+31.7%), Italgas (+28.6%), Infratel (+27.3%), Sport and Health (+20.6%), and Poste (+17.6%) are the businesses with the best "results on revenue" ratio.
