The second iteration of "Fashion Deserves the World" has been launched by the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana. The project was created with the goal of giving 15 young migrants and refugees the opportunity to train in the fashion and luxury industries. It was first introduced in June 2021 during World Refugee Day and developed in collaboration with the UN Refugee Agency (UNHRC) and Mygrants (a startup and benefit company that offers refugees and migrants a wide range of micro-learning programs). Some participants from the previous year joined the company, while others preferred to engage in individual craft projects. First-time participants in the initiative included Aeffe, Fendi, Gucci, Moncler Group, Valentino, and Zegna. The project's second iteration will put an emphasis on craftsmanship and Made in Italy skills and provide participants with the knowledge and abilities needed to fill highly in-demand positions in the fashion industry, such those of a tailor, pattern maker, and embroiderer. 15 finalists will be chosen from individuals who reply to the call for participation, and they will have the chance to attend training seminars in March or April 2023. Ultimately, internships or job contracts will result.
