A historic record has been reached this year for sales of Italian sparkling wine abroad, whose value for the first time exceeds 2 billion euros. At the end of the year the growth trend will be 23%. According to data provided by Coldiretti, the most passionate consumers outside the national borders are the Americans, who spent 13% more on Italian bubbles in 2022, while in second place are the British, who do not seem to have been discouraged by Brexit and represent an increase of 27%. On lower values is Germany, with a +14% in value. Italian sparkling wine is also very popular in Russia, with an increase of 9% despite the tensions caused by the war. In the ranking of the favorite Italian bubbles in the world there is also Prosecco, which is by far the best-selling sparkling wine, Asti and Franciacorta, which now challenge the prestigious French Champagne, so much so that in the French market there is a record growth in sales of 32%.
