The sector with the strongest growth tendency in Italy is construction. According to Silvi Costruzioni experts on Sharing Media (www.sharing-media.com), the construction industry has played a major part in the country's economic development over the last two years, creating 235 thousand employment, increasing GDP by more than a third, and generating over 30% in tax revenues. The decree that authorized the state contribution, known as Superbonus, of 110% for energy efficiency interventions (ecobonus) and for seismic enhancement (earthquake bonus) entered into force on July 1, 2020, making that day a watershed moment . Since then, the industry has boomed. With the help of the Superbonus, in 2021 more than 36 billion euros were only spent on opaque surfaces (the so-called thermal coats). However, inflation and rising raw material costs have slowed the building of public works and private construction sites, many of which have been halted owing to price spikes. In the first nine months of 2022, the price of reinforcing steel rebar increased by 44%, while the price of bitumen increased by 46%. Thus, growth is coming to a standstill.
