The Ministry of Defense sells the unoccupied barracks after conscription was abolished. The homes are ready to move into and are now on the market. The first four are located in Northern Italy: three in Vittorio Veneto, in the province of Treviso, one in Modena. An auction base, in total, of over ten million euros, the first ever made directly by the Defense. Now begins the most difficult battle: the one with the real estate market. The Defense Department has placed up for sale restored historic buildings. Palazzo Marinotti, early 20th century, Vittorio Veneto. Palazzo Doro Altan, 17th-century aristocratic mansion. Palazzo Piccin, another 20th-century structure refined. All immersed in the Prosecco hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, Unesco heritage. Ideal for a relais or high-end hotel. Instead, Santa Caterina's forage warehouses are near one of Italy's most vibrant cities. The Ferrari Prancing Horse is just one of the flagships of that territory.
