It is a race against time in the Chamber of Deputies to approve the maneuver by Christmas Eve, and then it will be the turn of the Senate, which will have to give the final approval to the measure by the end of the year. On December 22, after the general debate, the examination in the Chamber continued in a climate of tension between the majority and the opposition: in the end, after several interruptions to define precisely the changes indicated by the State General Accounting, the Chamber approved the request for referral to the Commission of the Budget Law, made by the President of the Budget Committee Giuseppe Mangialavori. The Verdi-Left alliance's proposal to delete the rule authorizing wild boar hunting in urban areas has been rejected. The amendment setting aside 450 million for the municipalities (approved by mistake in the Commission, as admitted by the majority) was also the result of financial coverage problems, given that 44 other corrections were made by the Ministry of Economy and Finance. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni also tried to extinguish the controversies, meeting the members of Fratelli d’Italia and underlining: "Among a thousand difficulties, the draught and these complex days of the Budget Law, and despite what can and must be improved, it seems to me that compared to those who wanted and foreshadowed a catastrophe in the start of this government and this majority, this story that was made against us is sympathetically going back like a boomerang".
