For ITA Airways, 2023 will be the year of the great investment towards the intercontinental market, with the opening of new routes in the United States from Rome Fiumicino to San Francisco and Washington. The expansion of ITA Airways over the long haul represents one of the main pillars of the flag carrier's strategy, since it not only provides profitability but also increases the short haul, contributing to doubling the capacity of the intercontinental network. Tickets will now be available on all ITA Airways sales channels (the official ita-airways.com website, the Company's call center, travel agencies and airport ticket offices) for the direct flights of Rome Fiumicino-San Francisco International Airport and Rome Fiumicino-Dulles International Airport. The first will operate from July 1 to July 30, 2023 with 3 weekly frequencies. The Rome Fiumicino-Dulles International Airport flight will operate from June 2 to July 2, 2023 with 5 weekly frequencies. The two new intercontinental destinations will be operated on San Francisco with the Airbus A350, flagship of the Company, on Washington with the Airbus A330, and are added to the flights of ITA Airways on New York, operated by both Rome Fiumicino and Milan Malpensa, and those on Boston, Miami, Los Angeles, San Paolo, Buenos Aires, Tokyo, New Delhi and Malè (Maldives), operated by Rome Fiumicino.
