The ship "Life Support" of Emergency with 142 migrants on board was escorted by a patrol boat of the Captain's Office in the port of Livorno. The boat was intercepted by a vehicle of the Guardia di Finanza 3 miles from the Livorno airport. The Life Support is the first of two NGO ships expected in the Tuscan port of call; the other ship is the Sea Eye 4, which has 108 migrants on board. In the meantime, the necessary facilities for welcoming migrants have been set up near the quay of the port. These are tensile structures provided by the regional civil protection that will house an advanced medical checkpoint, an immigration office garrison for photo-reporting, fingerprints and identification, and a refreshment and waiting facility, so that the Red Cross can provide warm clothes and meals before migrants are directed to buses for the various intended destinations. According to reports from the prefecture of Livorno, there are no particular problems on board, except for a few cases of scabies. In all, there would be 26 unaccompanied minors, 5 women, one of whom was pregnant at the seventh month, and the rest are men. Subsequently, there will be a transfer to reception centers in Lombardy, Emilia Romagna, Liguria and Tuscany.
