In Jesi, in the Marche region, the new Amazon logistics site will be built, and 65 thousand square meters will be allocated to the project that is expected to generate a thousand new jobs. Ten years ago Amazon opened its first warehouse in Italy: in the province of Piacenza, in Castel San Giovanni, there was the landing of the "spaceship", as the massive plant was later nicknamed the by some workers and trade unionists; today Amazon employs 1,600 people indefinitely. Since then, the logo of the e-commerce giant has multiplied in the logistics districts of the peninsula. Today the parcel journey starts from the eight large distribution centers, mostly concentrated in the North, among Piedmont, Lombardy, Veneto and Emilia Romagna, and then passes through the intermediate junction of the three sorting centers and finally reaches the 36 sorting warehouses, where they are collected and delivered to customers.
