A 30-year-old man has died in Iran after a 20-day coma following torture in prison. Amnesty International is reporting the tragic news. Mehdi Zare Ashkzari had studied Pharmacy in Bologna, where he had also worked in a pizzeria to maintain his studies. Two years ago he returned to his country. In Bologna, the boy was part of the large Iranian student community, which is one of the most numerous in Italy, with over 750 students enrolled in undergraduate, master's and doctoral programs. "We welcomed with dismay, pain and indignation the news of the death of Mehdi Zare Ashkzari – said the Rector of the University, Giovanni Molari - We express our condolences to the family and our solidarity with all Iranians women and all Iranians men who, even in universities, are fighting and suffering for the values that are dearest to us". Another Bolognese student, Patrick Zaki, was locked up in Egyptian prisons for a long time, where he underwent inhuman torture. He's recently free, but he can't leave the country.
