After two disastrous years, the tourist industry is breathing again: 2022 ends with about 400 million visitor arrivals, a 38.2% increase over 2021. Even if pre-covid levels continue to be far, this is a fairly beneficial outcome. This is what ASSOTURISMO-CST estimates. As a result, the industry had a significant rebound in arrivals and presences, owing mostly to an increase in international visitors and a revival of Italian demand. Entrepreneurs in the hotel industry have had positive outcomes in all areas and for all sorts of tourist goods, but cities/art centers have by far seen the greatest increase. Overall, presences in lodging facilities climbed by +38.2% from 2021 to 399.5 million. Arrivals, on the other hand, have increased by +42.8% over the previous year to a total of 112.3 million, according to our estimations. However, as compared to 2019, the numbers show -8.5% of presences and -14.5% of arrivals. even if there is a significant surge in tourists from North America, the rise in tourism is liked to European travelers.
