Winter sales begin in 2023. In Italy, the first big commercial event of the year starts tomorrow with the beginning of end-of-season sales. After the early departure of Basilicata and Sicily on January 2nd, followed by Valle d'Aosta on January 3rd, winter sales will begin in all areas today. Exciting levels of consumer enthusiasm: 72% of respondents indicated an interest in purchasing at least one item from the sale, with an average spending plan of roughly 160 euros per person. A further 23% will make their decision based on offers. This is the conclusion of an IPSOS poll of 800 customers performed by FISMO, the CONFESERCENTI federation of specialist fashion businesses. 62% of those who say they are interested have already set a budget. However, the average of 160 euros masks a widely diverse average spending at the regional level: in central Italy, an average of 216 euros will be spent, a budget much larger than that allocated on average in the northern and southern regions (respectively 148 and 147 euros). Even a gender and age study reveals significant differences: males will spend more (approximately 195 euros against 125 euros for women) and those over 35 will spend more (182 euros against 115 of the youngest).
