The Italian baritone Giovanni Guerini passed away today at the young age of 59. He has established himself as an exceptional interpreter of Renaissance, madrigal, and religious music repertoires in particular. He has also performed in Donizetti, Rossini, Mozart, and Verdi operas as a soloist. He has appeared in the world's most prestigious theaters, including La Scala in Milan, Madrid, New York, Dallas, Tokyo, Barcelona, St. Petersburg, Vienna, and Salzburg. After graduating in artistic singing with honors, and special mention, he received a number of international artistic prizes and in 2020 was awarded Knight Officer of the Order of the Order of the Knights of Malta "for his significant contribution to the art of bel canto." In addition, the International Music Museum of London recognizes his professional achievements in the area of vocal music. He's worked with Cologne Radio WRK, BBC English, and Dutch Radio.During the Nights of Light event, he explored Duke Ellington's holy repertoire. Deep connoisseur of all types of music, from Renaissance to jazz and pop, he converted his knowledge into voice instruction after seeing hundreds of young talents who have won prestigious honors in the world of pop music and television programs such as X Factor.
