The identikit was that of a person of good socio-cultural level, unlike Pietro Pacciani, who was a peasant, crude, rude, intelligent, clever but certainly not of high level, or of medium socio-cultural level. The well-known criminologist Francesco Bruno, who disappeared in his Celico, in the Cosentino region, at the age of 74, has been confronted during his long career with the story of the "Monster of Florence", that is the eight double murders of eight couples between 1968 and 1985, in the province of Florence. The mayor of Celico, Matteo Lettieri, announces on social media the death of Bruno, who was professor at La Sapienza University: "Celico mourns the loss of one of his most illustrious fellow citizens, Prof. Francesco Bruno, an internationally renowned doctor and criminologist. Prof. Bruno was a luminary, engaged in the resolution of the most heinous Italian crimes. Thanks to his studies it was possible to link the murders of the Monster of Florence to esotericism." Bruno had been a guest on various television programs dedicated to serial killers, and had published the first university study linking the murders of the Monster of Florence with esotericism and the sacrificial motive in the early 1980s. He became Professor of Criminology and Forensic Medicine at Sapienza University in 1987, and in the 1990s he collaborated with various ministries in the fight against mafia crime and drugs.
