The Pnrr Control Room, led by Minister for European Affairs Raffaele Fitto, convened with all central and territory administrations on January 12 in Palazzo Chigi to assess progress on the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (Pnrr). Italy must accomplish 27 goals by 30 June 2023, including 20 milestones and 7 targets. Their accomplishment will enable the European Commission to seek payment of the fourth 16-billion-euro tranche. During the control room, it was agreed that in the coming weeks, special bilateral technical meetings will be convened in which the status of implementation of each measure will be verified, also in consideration of the beginning of the updating phase of the Pnrr and the inclusion of the Repower EU chapter. This phase is part of a productive engagement with the European Commission. To speed up investments, especially in light of key difficulties that arose during implementation, the various administrations were invited to give elements and contributions. Minister Fitto announced "The timely convening of the Control Room reaffirms the commitment of President Meloni and the entire government to achieve all the goals of the Pnrr, constantly verifying and monitoring all the upcoming deadlines, as has been done in recent months through the new method that gives priority to the Control Room's functions and responsibilities. This strategy has already enabled the government to meet the 55 targets established by December 31, 2022".
