Three Seniors of Italian music - Al Bano, Gianni Morandi and Massimo Ranieri – will be among the protagonists of the upcoming Sanremo Festival. The three artists (228 years in total) will perform at the Ariston Theatre, for the first time together in the history of the Festival, on Wednesday February 8. “To be together in Sanremo with Massimo and Gianni is a dream that comes true. We still must meet and decide what to do: it must be beautiful, evocative, proactive. We must give our best,” said Al Bano, following what Ranieri said: “We finally succeeded. For twenty years, my friend Al Bano has had this project in mind. He's a tough guy and he finally did it.” The project is 30 years old but we have always postponed it. The credit goes to Morandi who brought us together.” “Our origins and our stories are similar. We come from that honest poverty of Italy in the 1950s which only exalted work and those who wanted to do something,” said Al Bano explaining what unites a Bolognese, a Neapolitan and an Apulian. “The three of us breathed the same grim atmosphere of that period, but we did it by rolling up our sleeves: we are great workers, and this must be an example. Another important fact is that we represent the country geographically: Gianni is the son of an Emilian cobbler, I of a farmer from the South, Massimo of a poor Neapolitan family".
