76% of Italians want the government to bring back a discount on fuel excise taxes like the one that was just taken away. 50.8% of respondents want the reduction to be permanent. This is what the weekly poll conducted by Termometro Politico between January 10 and 12 reveals. Termometro Politico also inquired about respondents' views on the notion of sovereignty. More than half of Italians have a good opinion: 28.2% say that it is vital to restore Italy's sovereignty and rediscover national pride, whereas 23.3% believe that it is necessary to expand national control in critical sectors while avoiding confrontation with allies. 29.1% of respondents reject sovereignism and nationalism because "they only bring wars and economic devastation and are outdated ideals." A further 16.9% say that "we must open ourselves up to greater global integration without sacrificing our individuality."
