The $218 million (about 202 million euros) contract to enhance capacity, mobility, and safety at the junction of Interstate 4 (I-4) and Sand Lake Road (State Road 482) in Orange County, Florida, has been granted to the American subsidiary Lane. The crossroads is part of Orlando's well-known tourism corridor, which links some of Central Florida's most popular attractions, including Universal Studios, Sea World, and Walt Disney World. The "I-4 and Sand Lake Road Interchange Improvements" project, as the contract is known, will expedite and improve the safety of traffic flows in the region, with favorable effects on travel times, CO2 emissions, and the local economy. Lane has a significant presence in Florida. It is extending a portion of I-275 to facilitate the movement of people and products in the Tampa Bay region. In the Orlando region of Osceola County, it is finishing construction of the Poinciana Parkway. Work is also being done in Orlando on the city's ring road, namely the part that connects the I-4, SR 417, and the recently finished Wekiva Parkway.
