More than 100,000 children and adolescents live in one of the municipalities dissolved by infiltration of organized crime. This is what emerges from the data released by Save the Children about local institutions that collude with the mafia system: according to the association, there is a huge loss in terms of services to support children. The organization explains that, to counteract this rooted phenomenon, it is essential to promote educational opportunities, strengthening the school, the spaces of aggregation and cultural and services on the territory. To break this vicious circle, Save the Children is active in the most difficult territories of the country, networking with associations, schools, and other educational agencies through actions such as the "Points of Light" and the Out of Class network, to ensure children and adolescents educational opportunities essential to build the future in an open way.
