Intesa Sanpaolo is the first bank in Europe, second in the world, and the only bank in Italy to be ranked among the 100 most sustainable publicly traded companies in the world, ranking 59th out of over 6,000 companies evaluated based on 25 ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) indicators such as environmental sustainability, attention to human resources, gender equality, product revenues, ESG services, and investments. The award, presented at the World Economic Forum in Davos, confirms Intesa Sanpaolo's strengthened commitment with the 2022-2025 Business Plan, which envisions allocating 115 billion euro to the community and the green transition and 500 million euro to support people in need, but also to achieve the goal of zero net emissions, by 2030 for its own and by 2050 for loan and investment portfolios, for asset management and insurance, and to help protect and restore natural ecosystems by planting more than 100 million trees and adopting a specific biodiversity policy. This recognition comes after Intesa Sanpaolo, the only Italian bank, was re-confirmed in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (World and Europe) at the end of 2022, one of the most prominent worldwide sustainability indices.
