A unique case in Italy is that which brought the Belloni Theatre of Barlassina, in the province of Monza and Brianza, in connection with Hong Kong. In the small municipality of Lombardy, which thanks to the Belloni has been called "the Salzburg of music", the theater has challenged the pandemic period by returning to host a new season, the 14th. The peculiarity lies entirely in its artistic director, Andrea Scarduelli, who directed all the shows through a large screen on stage. Scarduelli, in fact, has lived in Hong Kong since 2020, but for this reason he has not given up the direction of the Belloni, with a little help from technology. The theater of Barlassina, which was inaugurated in 2010, hosted a billboard that presented rich programmes with artists from the most prestigious theaters in the world, from Vienna to Paris to Salzburg. Scarduelli had no intention of leaving his public and, for this season, he decided to project the theater directly into the future: the audience in Barlassina was in the room, as were the artists on stage; the director, instead, was live from Hong Kong.
