The hearing of the trial of Matteo Messina Denaro, who has been accused of being the principal of the massacres of Capaci and Via D’Amelio, was postponed to March 9. This postponement was decided in order to allow the defense to be present. The postponement was decided by the president of the Court of Assizes of Caltanissetta, Maria Carmela Giannazzo, after the decision of the boss not to participate in the hearing by videoconference from the prison of L'Aquila where he is currently detained after the capture of January 16, due to the chemotherapy session to which he must be subjected. It seems, in fact, that a special room has been set up near Denaro’s cell, so that he can receive the necessary care. One of the boss's two public defenders, lawyer Salvatore Baglio, announced that he had received an oral delegation from Messina Denaro's lawyer, namely his niece Lorenza Guttadauro and, for this reason, he would have asked for the terms in defense.
