The new leader of DGT is 64 years old and is now the director of Directorate I of the Treasury Department, which is responsible for economic and financial analyses. He has more than twenty-five years of expertise as a macroeconomist. He was born in Rome and raised in Milan. He possesses a Ph.D. in Economics from New York University and a laude degree in Economics from Luigi Bocconi University in Milan. After engaging in academic teaching and research, he started his career in the financial sector, where he held executive roles at many banks specialized in developing markets. In recent years, he has focused mostly on the Eurozone's economy and markets.
