The restoration of the nineteenth-century chambers of the Reali Poste in the Vasari complex has concluded after three and a half years. This fascinating area, situated on the ground floor of the museum wing located behind the loggia dei Lanzi, is finally prepared for transformation thanks to the efforts of the team of architects and professionals from the Superintendence and Galleries. And within a few months, it will, like all of the world's great museums, welcome a restaurant. The call has already been issued and will be publicized over the next several weeks. The whole menu of the Uffizi restaurant will be devoted to Tuscan and Italian food prepared to the highest standards: The plan will be centered on Tuscan cuisine, but it will also include delicacies from all over the Peninsula, with a focus on the various regions, and a pastry section. Prior to 2016, the Royal Post Office was periodically utilized as an exhibition venue. This role will continue. In fact, a piece chosen from the museum's holdings will always be on exhibit in rotation. The restaurant, which will have its own entrance overlooking the Piazza dell'Uffizi, will stay open for both lunch and supper. As the restaurant is an important component of the Gallery, you will require a day pass or an annual pass to enter.
