Italians maintain their faith in cryptocurrency. Despite what experts refer to as "cryptowinter," the winter of cryptocurrencies caused by a speculative bubble and fraud on exchange platforms like as FTX, the Italians' faith seems to remain strong. Seven million people purchased them, and another seven million are interested or may buy them in the future. "2022 was an intense year for the blockchain industry. " Consolidating years of development work shows technical vitality despite the dramatic bursting of certain bubbles and a lengthy depreciation ", explains Valeria Portale, director of the Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Observatory at the Politecnico di Milano, which has developed a research on the sector. Exchange sites, such as Coinbase, Crypto.com, and Binance, are the most popular means of acquiring cryptocurrencies in the Italian context (at 40%), followed by cryptocurrency ATMs located around the peninsula (19%) and wallet services, a virtual space that works as a digital wallet (18%). 52% of Italians have used indirect methods through regular financial trading services and their own banking software. Still low numbers, though, for NFTs and digital certificates: 9% have bought them and 14% want to do so in the future. Those relating to art are the most popular.
