Italy considers Algeria "a vital partner of extreme strategic significance for what we've named the Mattei Plan for Africa. Our style of collaboration is not predatory, but both parties must be satisfied and flourish. Algeria is essential to the Mattei Plan for Africa, a paradigm of collaboration on an equitable basis that aims to convert the many crises into potential possibilities ". At a news conference with the President of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, used these remarks to highlight the result of the official visit to Algiers. The press conference was conducted at the conclusion of Giorgia Meloni's two-day series of bilateral meetings. "I appreciate the Algerian president and the whole administration for this warm welcome," she added. "It is no accident that the first bilateral mission that the new government planned to perform was to show Algeria's reliability. The expedition occurs on the anniversary of the 2003 Algiers signing of the Treaty of Friendship and Good Neighborliness. We commemorate the anniversary by signing a joint statement highlighting the quality of our connections, but we do not want to stop here ". Then she continued, "The Algerian administration is doing a terrific job assisting international investments: Italian firms have a strong willingness to invest, therefore I am pleased with Algiers' growth."
