Of the fugitives arrested, 654 were considered “active”, that is, wanted by the Italian judicial authorities; 715 were instead “passive”, that is, sought by foreign police forces and arrested by the Italian criminal police. Active fugitives were sought in 40 countries: 22% were arrested in Romania, 18% in Spain, 14% in Germany, 12% in France.
