The President of the Council Giorgia Meloni met yesterday morning at Palazzo Chigi the Secretary General of the International Bureau of Expositions (BIE) Dimitri Kerkentzes. At the core of the interview was the candidacy of the city of Rome to host the Universal Exhibition of 2030. President Meloni recalled the main contents of the Expo 2030 project and reiterated the Government's maximum commitment to the success of the candidacy of the Capital of Italy. Meloni - reads a note from Palazzo Chigi - stressed that it would be an honor for Italy and Rome, a universal city by definition, to host the 2030 edition of the Universal Exhibition, the year in which the centenary of the BIE is celebrated. For the President of the Council, Italy has all the cards to host a major global event dedicated to sustainability, innovation and urban regeneration. During the meeting, which was also attended by the president of the Promotion Committee and ambassador Giampiero Massolo, Meloni reiterated that the Expo 2030 is a national priority and the candidacy of Rome enjoys the support of Italian citizens and all national and territorial institutions involved at all levels.
