From January to November of 2022, the Italian pharmaceutical sector had a +44% increase in exports, totaling over $38 billion in revenue and resulting in a positive external balance of over $8 billion. When compared to 2021, Italy's exports have climbed by the greatest. The employment outlook is bright as well, with a +10% growth expected between 2016 and 2022 (and a +15%) for women and those under the age of 35. Italian companies are looking for electrical and process engineers, biotechnologists, pharmaco-economists, scrum masters, and data science managers. The Farmindustria association argues that in order to advance and sustain growth, reforms are now required, specifically through the payback, through the logic of cutting prices, and rather broadly to the logic of investment and enhancement of drugs and health to provide rapid access to innovation at central and regional levels. Additionally, clinical studies need to be promoted and funded. Farmindustria claims that the National Health Service saves almost three euros for every euro contributed by businesses.
