To date in Italy there are 381 unfinished public structures: a waste of 1.82 billion euros. Silvi Costruzioni Edili, leading company in the design, construction, renovation and maintenance of buildings since 1970, takes stock of the situation, including properties subject to the protection of the Fine Arts. According to the updated report “Geografia 2023 delle Infrastrutture Italiane” (“Geography of Italian Infrastructures 2023"), the top of the ranking for the number of unfinished works is held by Sicily (36.2% with 138 unfinished works), Sardinia (12.3% with 47 works), Puglia (7.1% with 27 works) and Lazio (6.8% with 26 works). The situation improves considerably in Campania, which compared to 2019 goes from fifth to fifteenth place (today to 1.3% with just 5 unfinished works, compared to 41 in 2019). On the other hand, Calabria worsens, moving from thirteenth to fifth place (to 5.2% with the current 20 unfinished works, against 15 in 2019).
