Acquitted in 25 because "the fact does not exist". Five minor convictions, including the two-year sentence of Ilario Lacchetta, former mayor of Farindola, Pescara, for the lack of road cleaning. This is the sentence of the fast-track trial on the tragedy of the Rigopiano hotel read today by Gianluca Sarandrea, Preliminary Hearing Judge of the Court of Pescara, which was received among the angry screams of the relatives of the 29 victims. The massacre took place six years ago, on January 18, 2017. The hypothesized crimes ranged from negligent disaster to multiple negligent homicide, to multiple negligent injuries, to forgery and also to red herring and building abuse. Among those acquitted are Francesco Provolo, former Prefect of Pescara, and Antonio Di Marco, former President of the Province. The courtroom filled with tears and screams at the reading of the sentence to the point of requiring the intervention of the police, who stood between the audience and the judge armored in the courtroom. "We will await judgment evaluations to assess the appeal. What emerges clearly is that the crime of negligent disaster has been canceled,” explained Giuseppe Bellelli, Head of the Prosecutor's Office.
