“The Good Mothers”, an Anglo-Italian series that will arrive on Disney+ from April 5, has won the first edition of the Berlinale Series Award, the new competition section of the Berlin Festival clearly dedicated to television series. “The Good Mothers” tells the true story of three women who had the courage to rebel against their 'Ndrangheta families to build a new life for themselves and for their children. In the cast, the "good moms" are Micaela Ramazzotti, Valentina Bellè and Simona Distefano. The series is based on journalist Alex Perry's best-selling Foreign Press Association award-winning novel and adapted for the small screen by Stephen Butchard, a British screenwriter best known for his work on “The Last Kingdom.” The six episodes of the series were directed by Julian Jarrold (“The Crown”) and Elisa Amoruso (“Chiara Ferragni: Unposted”).
