Italy is at the forefront when it comes to sanctions against Vladimir Putin. In fact, about 2 billion euros is the total value of Russian assets that have been “frozen” to put pressure on the country. One of the most significant measures, worth about 57 million euros, concerned a series of properties in Portofino and the Parioli district of Rome, as well as the capital of a company, also based in Portofino, attributable to the tycoon Eduard Yurevich Khudaynatov, a businessman active in the energy sector. Last October, the Italian authorities had frozen the assets of Eurochem Agro of Andrey Melnichenko, owner of the mega yacht “A”: the giant of the sea is 530 million euros worth and, together with the 650 million euros of the other maxi boat Scheherazade, has a weight for about half of what has been sanctioned at the national level. The activity of the Financial Security Committee did not spare entertainment, hitting musician Oleg Mikhylovich Gazmanov, owner of a 355,000 euro property in Lerici, in the province of La Spezia, and a supporter of Putin's party United Russia. The production company headed by Igor Albertovich Kesaev, owner and president of the Mercury Group, the main distributor of tobacco in the Russian Federation, and shareholder of Degtyarev, a company that produces weapons, also ended up in the net. Villa Walkirie, which is considered one of the most beautiful complexes on the Costa Smeralda, owned by the tycoon Oleg Vladimirovich Deripaska, is instead worth about 10 million, about 5.2 million less than the real estate compendium held by a series of foreign corporate vehicles by Grigory Vikotorovitsi Berezkin, president of the ESN private equity group.
