Between 2021 and 2022, Ferrero's profits fell to 751 million euros. According to the MF-Milano Finanza paper, the 24% decrease compared to the previous year was mainly due to the increase in costs for raw materials and other supplies, which went from 4.8 to 5.7 billion euros (+17.3%). The figure emerges from the financial statements of Ferrero International, the Luxembourg parent company which had recently announced an increase in revenues of 11% to 14.3 billion euros (to which another 2 billion euros collected by the Belgian cookie holding Cth Invest must be added). However, the jump in turnover was more than offset by the increase in expenses, which rose by 16.2% to 12.7 billion euros. The cost of personnel also rose to 2.6 billion euros, which at August 31 consisted of 41,441 employees (+8.2%). Moreover, in recent years Ferrero has concluded 14 extraordinary operations that have strengthened revenues, staff and international presence of the group. Today the company generates about two thirds of its turnover in Europe, but in the last financial statements, revenues outside the Continent increased by 21.4% thanks mainly to the traction of the US market.
