The consumer confidence index is expected to rise in February 2023 (from 100.9 to 104.0). ISTAT stated yesterday that among the series that comprise the consumer confidence index, opinions on the general economic situation are clearly improving, while conflicting signals emerge from the variables referring to the family economic situation. Economic and future sentiment rose sharply (from 107.6 to 114.5 and 108.6 to 113.4, respectively), while personal and current climate rose more slowly (from 98.6 to 100.5 and from 95.7 to 97.6). Concerning businesses, confidence fell in market services (from 104.2 to 103.3) and construction (from 158.8 to 157.2), remained stable in manufacturing (to 102.8), and increased in retail trade (from 110.6 to 114.6).
