The World Photography Organisation has announced the names of the photographers who have reached the final and shortlist of the Professional Competition of the Sony World Photography Awards 2023. The competition, which has reached its 16th edition, rewards works that stand out for technical excellence and originality in exhibiting stories and themes. The absolute winners of the Student, Youth, Open and Professional competitions will be announced on April 13 (when the winner of the Photographer of the Year title will also be revealed) and will see their works at the usual exhibition at Somerset House in London, from April 14 to May 1. There are many Italians who aim for the prize: Edoardo Delille and Giulia Piermartiri, Noemi Comi, Bruno Zanzottera and Fabio Bucciarelli. The 2023 edition has gathered 415,000 applications from more than 200 countries and territories.
