Aldo Signoretti, an internationally acclaimed Italian make-up artist, will travel to Los Angeles on March 12 to compete in the "Make up & Hair" category for his work on Baz Luhrmann's film "Elvis." This is Signoretti's fourth Oscar nomination; previous nominations were for the films "Moulin Rouge" (2002), "Apocalypto" (2007), and "Il divo" (2010). The make-up artist will represent Italy alongside the actress Alice Rohrwacher, nominated for the short film "Le pupille," and Lorenzo Zurzolo, a member of the cast of Jerzy Skolimowski's nominated film "EO." "I will not commit suicide if I do not win - he said - I hoped so much for Mel Gibson's Apocalypto which I think was a perfect film for my work, and then also in Paolo Sorrentino's Divo and in Baz Luhrmann's Moulin Rouge with which I have a special bond".
