Italians are terrified of artificial intelligence. Despite the fact that the post-pandemic AI market has more than doubled, with a + 27% increase and a value of 380 million euros, the fields of application and company investments are very limited: only 6 out of 10 companies have begun at least one AI project in the financial services, transportation, retail, and public services sectors. Nevertheless, Italy is expected to grow by 41.4% in the entrepreneurial sector alone by 2024. There is, however, a dark side to the advancement of AI, at least in the eyes of Italians: 40% of them do not trust it, and their greatest fear touches the realm of professional life. According to IPSOA research cited by Unicusano, 71% of Italians are concerned about the impact on employment. Copywriters, teachers, translators, but also programmers, marketers, and researchers are among those who have been affected by the most recent applications of artificial intelligence.
