"The proposed directive on green homes is a text that in our opinion provides time targets that are unattainable for Italy, whose real estate heritage is set in a very different context from that of other member states". In no half-measures, Premier Giorgia Meloni tackles the edgy issue of the European directive dubbed "green building law", which will force a large number of Italian properties to take steps to raise energy savings. "We believe that in meeting the international commitments made on the reduction of climate-changing emissions, a pragmatic and not an ideological approach should be maintained," the Prime Minister added. "Environmental sustainability must never be separated from economic and social sustainability," Meloni concluded, "and once emission reduction targets are defined, technological neutrality must be ensured”.
