A survey conducted by Aiteb, the Italian Association of Aesthetic Botox, the first national organization in the field, reveals that more than 1 in 2 aesthetic doctors is a woman among its members. Out of 383 professionals registered with Aiteb, 217 are women (as of December 31, 2022). Six years ago, out of 310 members, 171 women were engaged in aesthetic medicine (as of December 31, 2016). "The percentage of women choosing this profession is steadily increasing," the association explains, "Today we have a female percentage that touches 57 percent, up from 2016 when it was 55 percent, still more than half. It is a figure of gender parity that, in addition to welcoming, also breaks down a false stereotype about the field: aesthetic medicine, beauty care and interest in botulinum toxin is not a purely male job".
